Significance

Extracellular vesicles (EVs) are a heterogeneous population of membrane-bound particles released by cells. The isolation and purification of EVs from biological fluids are crucial steps in studying their potential for diagnostic and therapeutic applications.

The three main subtypes of EVs are microvesicles (MVs), Small Evs /exosomes, and apoptotic bodies.
